Hello! I hope everyone is doing well! The last two months have been busy as usual, especially with all the visits! We had a friend, Pete Martin, come to visit for a week to see if he is interested in missions. My parents came; Peter and I got engaged; Allison, our short termer, left; then Peter’s parents came for a surprise visit which we had been planning for several months, and we got him good! Then our new teammates, the Fletchers, who are serving in Bogotá, came for a few days. Next, we left for our ABWE South American regional conference in Peru and just got back from that last week. Things are finally starting to settle down back to the normal, every day crazy life here in Medellín. Then again, there is no normal here, ha.
At the conference in Peru, we discussed our theme for next year, which I have been thinking about since our time together. Prov. 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” That is a powerful verse, and I am challenged and hope you are challenged as well as we face many temptations daily even as Christians, but the goal is to guard our heart! The passage goes on to say guard your eyes, your mouth, and your feet. May God give us all grace and strength to keep ourselves guarded! He is faithful and we can lean on Him for anything!! WOW!
Above left: Our Colombian team in Peru.
Above center: We had another cookout at the church and it was a huge success and neat to see several people step up and serve!
Above right: All Juan David wanted for his 10th birthday was a poop party, so we had several games and even had a sword drill containing verses about “it.” He was a happy boy!
Below left: Continue to pray for Angie as she is a believer but is struggling to understand the importance of going to church.
Below center: I invited my “hermanito” (little brother) in Christ, Eder, and his family to swim. Continue to pray that he would grow spiritually, and for his three unsaved family members: Moises, Ximena, and Julian. Also, their house is known as a party house, so pray for a breakthrough in that.
Below right: New discipleship! These girls, plus one not pictured, have been coming to Saturday Kid’s Club for several months now and had expressed interest in starting study. We just started right before the conference in Peru, so pray that God would work in the hearts of Patricia, Leidy, Juliana, and Victoria.
Below left: Max had surgery the day after we got back from Peru to get a tooth removed that was bad. Pray for his recovery as he is on a special diet now for a week.
Below middle: Peter’s and my engagement on the beach! I am excited to be marrying this wonderful man next year. :)
Below right: Always love talking to my Calvin when I get the chance! :)
TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS THESE LAST MONTHS, YOUR ENCOURAGING MESSAGES ABOUT PETER’S AND MY ENGAGEMENT, AND YOUR SHARED PASSION FOR WHAT GOD IS DOING IN COLOMBIA!!
God bless you all and as always,
FOR THE KINGDOM!!! Jamie :)
