If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”. Matthew 12:7-8
We are almost halfway through Matthew during Sunday sermons, and just as the verse says up above, and within the context of the passage, we are called to do good even if it is on the
Sabbath, and we are called to rest! The Lord gives us these times to re-orient our focus as well towards Him and His plans for us. What a wonderful thing! If we haven’t already, may we start to focus on Him, and all that He has done for us!
Ministry always has its ups and downs, discouraging times and uplifting times, just like life. As we have moved over to the new church, some people are not as consistent any more, but others who are closer now, have been. Whether it is location or something else, we pray over all that it is the desire to know God more that captivates them. We know Jesus himself traveled many miles to share the Word and also many people made the journey to hear Him. May it be so for our neighborhood, Robledo Aures, as well.
Therefore, we continue with Sunday School and church, discipleships, Kids Club, Youth Group, University Students study (the latter two still being in the old 3rd floor church building), and the new study, Roots of Faith, on Wednesday evenings.
On August 31, the church loved on us so well as they threw a huge baby shower. It was so fun, and in true Colombian style, a party that was to last 2 hours lasted around 5. We are so thankful for the church here as they also have walked through grief with us knowing Anaya and a miscarriage, but now get to celebrate with us this little life. We also had a virtual baby shower last Sunday from the States. At 37 weeks now, the time is coming, and we look forward to rejoicing with you all. Thank you everyone for loving on Zaion (pronounced Zion, after the city in the Bible) Daniel (paternal grandfather) Hudson. Please pray for my final ultrasound this Monday and a safe delivery.
Thank you all for your prayers! We hope to finish construction this week, just in time haha, and we look forward to Marissa’s arrival for 2 months next week.
Please pray for us to find some replacements for Peter in preaching and other ministries as we plan Zaion’s arrival. We also pray that my parents will get here in time for the delivery, and we look forward to my sister-in-law and then Peter’s parents visiting afterwards. Please also pray as we will soon lose our 3rd Venezuelan family who has been very active in our church and help with all kinds of things including sound and audio, to a legal migrant program to the States. Yeskely and Jose, the parents, also just renewed their vows, so we had our first wedding at church that Peter officiated! Finally, it may seem that next month there will be opening on the floor above us for kid’s ministries. Pray that we can work out a good price and that the space will be a blessing.
For the Kingdom,
Jamie, Peter, (Anaya), Zaion, and Max
Max is anxiously waiting, and Zaion could be quite the soccer player.
Angie is graduating next month, and the first wedding that was done at church!
Pray for salvation for Yair (L) and a renewed desire for church and growth in Juan David and Sebas.
